The valency of all elements in any group would be the same number of electrons. All elements in the same group have the same number of valence electrons.
Such as Fraluorin and Chlorine which are elements of Group-17. Fluorine and chlorine have 7 electrons in their outer shell, which has a valence of 7. The electronic configuration of the outer shell of any group represents the group in the modern periodic table. The number of cells in the group increases from top to bottom. But the number of electrons in its outer shell remains the same.

The position of hydrogen remains uncertain as it can be placed in either group 1 or group 17 of the first period. Because both groups require 1 electron to complete their octaves.

The number of valence electrons of the elements of the second period varies, but they have the same number of shells. If the number of atoms increases by one unit in the period from left to right, then the number of valence electrons also increases by one unit.
